"Felt like an old fishing buddy!"

Had always wanted to do this, and David really hooked me up (no pun intended)! He was very professional, knowledgeable, but made me feel like part of the family. Equipment was top notch, can't beat fishing out of a Hobie pedal kayak, hands free and legs much stronger than arms. Tackle was very good quality. What puts you on fish is knowledge of habits and ability to read water, and David showed me he spends a lot of time out there fishing. There is nothing like having a fish pull you around in a yak! Even got a chance for myself and the love of my life to try out kayak sailing and hang out with other "yakers" at a beach party. Can't wait to go back and do it again. Oh yea, his hot girlfriend Trina also makes a mean kalua pork sandwich.

For a good time call....Dave, seriously"

Da Kine all the way bruddah, this trip was excellent. Dave is a great guide, knowledgable about the area, and general all around interesting dude. Aside from paying for this expedition, reasonable rates as far as I was concerned, it felt like we were just on a trip with another good friend. The scenery is beautiful and the route is really not too difficult at all. It was interesting to see all of the places I only read about in Surfer magazine all those years back. Our trip started at the crack of dawn launching at sunrise just north of Sunset beach. We paddled downwind towards Haleiwa. Originally Dave had us planned to land at another site, but we were making such good time he called ahead to have the truck moved further down to Haleiwa harbor where even at the end of the trip he was totally cool with us venturing up the river a ways to check things out. Very accomodating the entire trip and even after a conversation about our love of seafood he offered up some fresh ohno for us to take home. We are stealing some soy sauce and wasabi from work as I write this so we can dig right in after our shift..The business is small which I prefer to the bigger ones. His equipment is nice, the boats were great, and the day was a welcome break form long exhausting hours at work. I am sure the great Duke would be proud of the way Dave breaks out the Aloha spirit.Mahalo

Wow, it was a great day. Dave (he is a great guide) took me on a 6 hour fishing tour this last week. Dave was really a pro, made sure I knew how to be safe in the ocean and watchied to make sure I was being safe all day. The beauty of Hawaii is just not the same when you get off the road and into the water. Turtles were the first to be observed, followed by whales breaching not too far away. I brought a nice Snapper and Jack home. The food was good. The kayak trip was with the wind, so it was not too much effort. Great fun.

Amazing experience, small group, can be customized to experience level"

Costal Kayak Tours has several kayak tours available. We picked the 5 hour to China Man's Hat. Our guide, David, typically does smaller groups, so it was just my husband and I which we loved. We met at the beach close to China Man's hat and kayaked out. We wanted to hike, so we went around the island and then to the top. You need to be an experienced hiker with good shoes and gloves to do this, but the view from the top was spectacular. We swam for a break and did some Kayak surfing and back to the beach for a great, light lunch. Then back out to do some more Kayak surfing on some bigger waves and some snorkeling. The greatest part about this trip was that it's completely customizable to what you want to do and to your experience level. Kayaks were great and they had coolers with drinks and snacks. You'll want board shorts and a lot of sunscreen or SPF shirt, also water shoes and a wide brimmed hat and sunglasses with croakies. A water camera is a must. David was very knowledgable about the area and very easy going, totally open to our interests. Trina stayed at the beach so lunch would be ready when we were and the conversation was great. If we ever get back to Hawaii we'll definately go back and see them.
